Women of the world want and deserve an equal future free from stigma, stereotypes and violence; a future that’s sustainable, peaceful, with equal rights and opportunities for all. To get us there, the world needs women at every table where decisions are being made. International Women’s day is celebrated on the 8th of March every year. It’s a day that people around the world dedicated to the women in their lives. Women’s Day celebrates the importance and significance of women in every person’s life. Considering this into account on behalf of Women Empowerment cell an International Women’s Day celebration had been conducted on 07/03/2022. The program started with Lamp lighting  and Tamil Thai Vazthu.

 Mrs. Jiny, Assistant Professor of Science & Humanitarian Department proposed the welcome address and the Chief guest introduction was given by Mrs. G.B Ezhil Jenekkha, Head of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the coordinator of women empowerment cell. Presidential address was delivered by the Mrs. Lyla Eakkiem, Managing Trustee of MET Engineering College. The felicitation address was given by the Chairman Er.Mohammed Eakkiem, Vice Chairman Mr.Al.Suhail, Ar.Al Sameem and the Principal Dr.P. Senthil Kumar of MET Engineering College and the Principal Dr. Jeba Sheela, Principal MET College of Education.

          During the forenoon session, the Chief Guest Dr. Deepa Alageswari, NLP Speech trainer & motivational speaker, gave a speech about the role and importance of women in various fields to the students. She inspired our students to have their own individuality and strength.

Various cultural events and competition for various events were conducted. During the afternoon session, Dr.P. Senthil Kumar, Director of MET group of colleges, Dr. Jeba Sheela, Principal MET College of Education and Miss.Vidhya.V, Administrative officer of M.E.T group of institutions, had distributed the prizes and certificates to the winners.

Miss. Esaivani from First year delivered the vote of thanks followed by a group photo of all the lady staff members and the program ended successfully with the National Anthem.
