Assessment is a performance evaluation of an institution and is accomplished through a process based on self-study and peer review using defined criteria. NAAC certification is a measure to evaluate and then guarantee a standard of education provided in higher institutions across the nation. The University Grant Commission (UGC) has issued a decree stipulating that every institution must get certification by the council called NAAC. Unlike the traditional educational system, NAAC aims to improve the overall development of students by helping them inculcate skills and knowledge via their education.

To create awareness among participants about NAAC Accreditation Process and to clarify the doubts of participants regarding the 7 criteria of Revised Accreditation Guidelines, a one-day seminar titled “Orientation on NAAC” was organized by M.E.T Engineering College on 26th February 2022. The seminar started with a warm welcome by Ms.H.Thiraviya Pon Silfa, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Dr.P.Senthil Kumar, Principal, M.E.T Engineering College Presided over the function. His presidential address stressed the importance of getting NAAC accreditation as per the quality mandate of UGC. Dr.Lourdusamy, Associate Professor, St.Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai was the chief guest the seminar comprised of two sessions.

In the first session, he delivered a talk on online registration for NAAC, submission of SSR, Accreditation mechanism, Assessment method, and Ranking process. In the second session, he gave an overview of the Revised Accreditation Framework and discussed in detail Institutional Preparation-before, during, and after the process of Assessment & Accreditation. He also promised that he will extend all help and support in submitting NAAC application for assessment. The Resource person replied to all queries from the participants. It was a friendly and more interactive session. The seminar concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mrs.V.M.Suja, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
