Industrial exposure and practical experience plays a significant role while attempting to enter the corporate world. Internships provide industry exposure and real time experience but also helps in one’s personal growth and development.

We Muktha Shalini.A, Ramya K, Sujith Abisheka Christus J S, Vaishakh K are from Final year & Yuvaraj Singh P, Vibin Raja C are from Second Year, We are currently pursuing our B.E in the department of EEE at M.E.T Engineering college. We went to HI-FY technologies for one week internship from 8/03/2022 to 12/03/2022, we went as a team of 6 members by attending this internship, We learned a lot of things about MATLAB, design a circuit, etc. during this internship.
On the first day we learned about the basic difference between electrical and electronics appliances and practical implementation of it and also we learned in detail about power electronic switching devices such as IGBT, MOSFET, and Voltage regulators, etc…And it is very useful to got clarification about these concepts. In day 2, we designed a DC 5v regulator power supply system using MATLAB and detail study about the components which used for the designing and we did practical circuits based on the design. On day 3 we learned about converters and circuits which use converters in renewable generation systems some of the converters we designed are DC-DC boost converters, DC-DC buck boost converters, fly back converters, DC-DC CUK converter using MATLAB and detail study about the converter and its applications and also designed a hardware circuit with converters.
In day 4 we learned about various types of inverters and its design and also detail study of the inverters and its uses. On the final day of our internship we learned about solar tracking and solar panel design and algorithm for solar tracking especially MPPT algorithm for a solar panel design. This internship was very useful since I learned a lot of designs and algorithm techniques using MATLAB which in hope will very much helpful for my project work and general knowledge about MATLAB functions and SIMULINK designs.
Design and implementation of renewable energy based wireless power transfer
Placements give students the opportunity for improvement of skills explicit to their subject or industry of choice as well as the employability skills required for real work. It also expands their knowledge of an industry or sector, which countenances them to make better well-versed decisions about future career choices.
Training and placement hours are separately distinguished in the Department of EEE to provide the students with the opportunity to gain skills particular to their subject or industry of choice in addition to the employability skills i.e. soft skills that are required for real-life work. Soft skills include communication skills and body language. Along with these, it also increases their awareness and knowledge of an industry or sector, allowing them to be responsible professionals and lead a successful career.
