Empowering women in every aspect of life is the ultimate goal of women empowerment cell (WEC) in our institution, from technical and non-technical,interpersonal to survival skills. To get us all there a one-day seminar on “Values of Women” was conducted on 10/05/2022.
The program started with Tamil Thai Vazthu. Ms. Shirley Jeeva Malar, Assistant Professor of CSE department presented the welcome address. Presidential address was delivered by Mrs. Lyla Eakkiem, Managing trustee of MET Engineering College. The felicitation address was given by Chairman Er. Mohammed Eakkiem and Vice Chairmen Mr. Al Suhail, Mr. Al Sameem. Dr.P. Senthil Kumar, Director of MET Group of Institution and Dr. Jeba Sheela, Principal MET College of Education presented the felicitation address. Chief guest introduction was given by G.B. Ezhil Jenekkha, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Coordinator of Woman Empowerment Cell. As a token of gratitude, a memento was presented to the chief guest by our Administrative officer Ms. Vidhya.
The program’s chief guest Dr. S. David, Assistant Professor Department of Commerce,St. John’s Arts and Science College, Nagercoil started the session with talking about what values are. He continued the session with presenting informations about the importance of Human values. He shared a lot of factual information about how by increasing our values we can become better human beings. He gave a lot of information about the government policies and opportunities offered for women in terms of loans and financial support.
At the end of the session interactive questions were asked and a small story about eagles rising above the clouds was shared. He motivated the students by telling them to achieve more by increasing their values. The resource person finally insisted three important values to be followed by the students which are namely Social value, Family value and Spiritual value. Miss Ramya K final year EEE student delivered the vote of thanks and the program ended with National Anthem.
