Department of Computer Science and Engineering

Objectives

The Internet of Things (IoT) is how we describe the digitally connected universe of everyday physical devices. These devices are embedded with internet connectivity, sensors and other hardware that allow communication and control via the web. IoT aims to unify everything in our world under a common infrastructure, giving us not only control of things around us, but also keeps us informed on the state of things. This skilled course introduces our students to the amazing world of IoT and its fascinating applications using Arduino development kit.

Arduino is an open source physical computing platform based on a simple I/O board and a development environment that implements the Processing/Wiring language. Arduino can be used to develop stand-alone interactive objects or can be connected to software on your computer.

Vision

1. Train the students to design some IoT based prototypes.

2. Train to implement basic IoT applications on embedded platform

Mission

1. Identify circuit components and explain their purposes and importance.

2. Train the students professionally in embedded programming languages and the techniques to establish the WiFi communication between the embedded devices and cloud platform.
